Despite organised water fights being prohibited in Thailand as of late, there is still one place where fans all around the globe can celebrate the Songkran Festival. Fans can now pick an avatar and plunge into the full Thai New Year experience in the metaverse.
Sparking a collaboration between Siam Piwat and the Zepeto chat app, the ONESIAM x Zepeto Metaverse Songkran Festival 2022 is held within the 3D avatar chat app. Zepeto boasts around 300 million users - that actively create personalised 3D avatars to socialise in a virtual world. Making use of the user interaction the interface has to offer, Siam Piwat lets customers of its shopping malls download Zepeto to create a 3D avatar to immerse in the Songkran spirit via the ONESIAM x Zepeto metaverse.
Not only that, participants can also pimp up their digital selves through ONESIAM by browsing the OneSiam shop for fashion wearables including traditional Thai costumes, accessories like sunglasses and equip themselves with water guns to get in the full festive spirit.
Once dressed and armed, players can head over to Beach Town for some Songkran splashing with attendees across the globe. Metaverse participants can meet avatars of popular entertainers around Thailand and partake in Songkran beach parties throughout this digital event.
